Wildflower Tour

 

Each year, nature's beauty is in bloom down the lanes and by-ways of DeWitt County. Over 1,000 species of wildflowers are indigenous to the county. DeWitt County is known as the Wildflower Capital of Texas because of this fact. Color-coded route maps are available at the Chamber office, 124 E. Church Street, to give you the best views of flowers. Activities during the month in the a 5K run/walk and a cycling race through wildflower strewn areas, photography exhibits at the Cuero Heritage Museum, DeWitt County Historical Museum, and at the Cuero Public Library.

Retail Merchant Spring Open House 
Always the weekend (Saturday) before Easter. Visit participating Retail Merchants for samples, demonstrations, and discounts on selected merchandise items. Shopping Cuero gives you great finds, great buys, and great friends!!! 

Wildflower 5K 
Always the first Saturday of April and held at the Cuero Municpal Park, the Wildflower 5K can either be jogged or walked. Registration begins at 8 AM with the race starting at 9 AM. Bring the kids along to participate in the Junior Wildflower Run for children ages 1-12 years. Winners will be annouced at 10:15 AM. 

Cycling Tour 
A cycling tour is available for those with a preference to roll through the flowers of the county. A choice of 5 distances through hills of historic & wildflower-strewn countryside is available. A custom-designed T-shirt & packet are provided for the registrants. The tour supports Anchor Club of Cuero.
